Small group offerings

We have a number of ways to meet and grow together as part of our Deer Lake community!

Look below to discover the variety of "ages and stages" groups we offer to find the small group that is just right for you!  Our Community Support Groups have more information and registration on an external website that can be found by following the link.  Our internal Small Groups have a single registration form that allows you to register with our internal leaders.  If you need assistance or more information, please contact the church office.

All groups are online unless otherwise noted.

  • Fellowship Groups

    • "Virtual Lakes Café" at 10am via Zoom - a time to "see" each other and visit

    If you are interested in receiving an invitation, please click here to sign up to receive Announcements (or other communications) from Deer Lake so that you can join us next Sunday morning.

  • Community Support Groups

    These groups are open to anyone and are currently being conducted online.  Follow the links at the end of the description if you would like to register to join one of these groups.

    • DivorceCare - Mondays 6pm begins August 17th - A friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences.  Register here.
    • Financial Peace University - Mondays 7pm begins August 24th - How to eliminate debt, save for the future, and give like never before.  All confidential.   Register here.
    • GriefShare - A friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you after the death of a loved one.  Click here to let us know of your interest in joining this online group and we will let you know when the registration is open.
  • Sermon Discussion Small Groups

    These groups follow along with our sermon series and allow you to dig a little deeper into each week's message.

  • Co-Ed Small Groups

    • Believers Together - Sundays 11am - "Abraham" - While heralded as a patriarch of faith, Abraham's journey was filled with the messiness of life.  Yet he chose to trust in the promises that God had presented before him, regardless of how distant and impossible they seemed.  For us, Abraham is an example of faith and a reminder of what it looks like to trust God with the most important things in our lives.
    • IGNITE - Wednesdays 7pm - "Overcoming Anxiety During COVID-19" - In this four-part series, Jonathan Pokluda speaks words of comfort and wisdom, to help Christians navigate the areas of life COVID-19 is affecting. You'll be encouraged in how to overcome anxiety in these troubling days and explore ways you can remain faithful to God and to others.
    • Young Adult/Young Family - Wednesdays 7:30pm begins August 26th - current topics of interest and Scripture
  • Ladies' small groups

    • Moms in Prayer - Sundays 2pm - We pray for all DLUMC youth and schools represented, as well as, specific prayer for our own children.  For more about Moms in Prayer International click here.
    • Killearn Lakes Moms/Young Moms - In-person - children welcome to attend with moms for a time of devotion and sharing - Tuesdays 9:30am begins August 25th (meets outside in the Pavilion) - "Breathing Room for Moms" - You're multitasking your way through motherhood filling your calendar, draining your bank account, and missing out on memories along the way.  With one surprisingly simple invitation, God offers a way to trade your overwhelming pace for one that will finally bring you peace.  With a little humor and a lot of empathy, our authors will help you avoid burnout and find some breathing room, even in the trenches of motherhood.
    • MOM's - Tuesdays (time to be determined by group) begins August 25th - "Risen Motherhood"  - Motherhood is hard.  One second, we think we're doing a good enough job, the next we're the worst mom on the planet.  Which is why we need the refreshing truth of the gospel repeated over and over - giving us hope in the everyday moments.
    • Wednesday Evening Bible Study - Wednesdays 7pm begins August 26th (meets outside at the Nursery Patio) - "Hebrews" - In this series, Chad Ragsdale will walk through the book of Hebrews and talk about its relevance to Christians today.  He will challenge you to divert your attention from the troubles in this world, turn to Jesus' presence, and encourage you to persevere.
    • Thursday Morning Bible Study - Thursdays 9:30am begins August 27th (this will be offered in both an in-person format on the church grounds and an online format via Zoom) - "Pursuing Spiritual Transformation: Training vs. Trying" - What would your life be like if Jesus lived it?  Imagine the change your would experience in your thoughts, actions, and relationships.  Think of the joy and freedom that could transform every area of your life.

    • Men's 4:12 - Tuesdays 6:30am ongoing - In depth study of Scripture - Daniel
    • Wednesday - Wednesdays 6:30pm begins August 12th - YouTube Series, "The Chosen" - A 2020 television drama based on the life of Jesus Christ.
    • Friday - Fridays 7am ongoing - Scripture - 1 Corinthians
